Terms of service

Plain-English terms for PrepCart. They say what the service is, what it is not, and what we each agree to.

What the service is

PrepCart is a Chrome extension and a website that plan your week's meals to your macros, write the recipes and the shopping list, and add the items to your Woolworths or Coles cart when you ask. It is run from Australia.

What it is not

  • Not medical, dietary or dietitian advice. Recipes, portion sizes, calorie and protein figures are estimates to help you plan. They are not tailored to a medical condition. If you are pregnant, have an allergy, a health condition or a nutrition plan from a professional, follow their advice over ours. We apply food-safety and allergen checks in good faith, but you check every label yourself.
  • Not a shop. We never buy anything for you. The cart feature works in your own supermarket account, in a browser tab you can see, and stops before checkout. You review the cart, you pay the supermarket, you take delivery or pick it up. Prices, availability and substitutions are the supermarket's.
  • Not a bank. Payment for the subscription goes through Stripe. We never see or store card numbers.

Your account and your household

Sign in with Google or an emailed code; there are no passwords. One subscription covers one household. The plan can portion meals for up to four adults at your table, each with their own goal and targets. The person who pays owns the account and can invite one other adult, who gets their own sign-in and receives the plan and recipe emails; the owner can remove them and invite someone else. Anyone else in the household can be forwarded the emails. Keep your sign-in email to yourself: anyone who can read it can sign in as you.

Your supermarket account

You sign in to Woolworths or Coles yourself. We never store those credentials, never complete a purchase, never book a delivery slot and never touch payment, address or account settings. Their terms of use govern how their sites may be used; if a supermarket shows a "verify you are human" check, the extension stops and waits for you.

Paying and cancelling

The subscription is monthly, charged when you sign up and on the same day each month after, tax included. There is no free trial. Manage it from your account page: Manage billing opens Stripe's customer portal, where you can update your card, see your invoices, and cancel. Cancelling stops the next charge; your access continues to the end of the period you have already paid for, and nothing more is charged. The cancellation and refund policy says when a refund applies. Prices may change for future months with notice by email.

Your content and our content

Your profile, chat and plans are yours. The recipes, lists and plans we generate for you are yours to use at home. You may not resell the service, scrape it, or use it to drive a supermarket site in ways their terms forbid.

Our promises and their limits

We will try hard to keep the service working and the plans sensible, and we will tell you when a supermarket's site has changed and the cart feature is paused. We do not promise that every recipe suits you, that every product match is right, or that the service is available every minute. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for losses beyond the subscription fees you paid in the previous month. Nothing in these terms removes guarantees the Australian Consumer Law gives you.

Ending things

You can delete your account from the extension's settings at any time; that removes your data as the privacy policy describes. We may suspend an account that abuses the service or a supermarket's site, and we may retire the service with at least 30 days' notice by email.

Changes and contact

We will email you about material changes to these terms. Questions: see the contact page.
